ContributorNetwork - The July 1 expiration of single-occupancy HOV lane access for hybrid cars and their handy yellow stickers will affect my life directly, even though I do not drive a vehicle. I regularly rely on rides from friends due to a disability that impairs my ability to drive. Much to our chagrin, one of my friends will no longer be able to respond quickly to my transportation needs. Especially during rush hour, this friend can scoop me up and take me to either side of the Bay Bridge with ease due to the yellow sticker he had on his hybrid car that made it easy for him to beat traffic.
